Licence terms

These terms govern the licence you buy for a track generated with OpenTunes, operated by Star Computer (“we”, “us”). Tracks are produced by an open-weights AI model (MiniMax-Music3) and carry embedded C2PA provenance identifying them as AI-generated. By completing a purchase you agree to the terms in force at the time of that purchase. Governing law: [jurisdiction to be set]. Contact: [support contact].
What you are buying
A licence to use one specific track (the “Track”), together with a download of its studio-master audio file. You are not buying the copyright or any exclusive right: we, and other licensees, may continue to use and license the Track.
Personal licence
The personal licence grants you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Track in your own personal, non-commercial projects — for example personal videos, podcasts, and social posts that are not monetised.
It does not permit use in advertising, client work, products offered for sale, or any revenue-generating context. For those, buy the commercial licence.
Commercial licence
The commercial licence grants you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Track in commercial and monetised projects — for example client work, advertising, monetised video, apps, games, and podcasts. It includes the full-length studio master.
Both licences allow
- Synchronising the Track with your own visual or audio content.
- Reproducing and distributing the Track as part of your finished project.
- Unlimited plays of your finished project.
Both licences do not allow
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the Track on its own — including listing it in a stock, sample, or loop library.
- Registering the Track, or a project built around it, with a Content-ID or rights-management system in a way that restricts anyone else’s licensed use of the same Track.
- Claiming that you authored the underlying music.
- Using the Track to train machine-learning models.
- Any unlawful, defamatory, or hateful use, or any use implying endorsement by us or by any artist.
AI-generated content
The Track is generated by an AI model and provided as-is. You are responsible for any disclosure of AI-generated content required by your jurisdiction or by the platform where you publish. The Track carries C2PA provenance metadata; do not remove or falsify it where the law or a platform requires it to be present.
Ownership and provenance
We license the Track as first-party content that we generated and control. We do not represent that the Track is protected by copyright, or that it is unique: AI-generated audio may not attract copyright in some jurisdictions, and similar descriptions can produce similar output. Your licence is a licence to use the Track under these terms regardless of its copyright status.
No refunds
Each purchase delivers a studio-master file rendered for you at the time of purchase. All sales are therefore final and non-refundable once that master has been made available to download, except where a refund is required by law.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The Track and the service are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Track is free of third-party claims, fit for a particular purpose, or non-infringing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a Track is limited to the amount you paid for its licence.
Termination and changes
We may terminate a licence if you materially breach these terms; on termination you must stop using the Track, and termination does not entitle you to a refund. We may update these terms for future purchases — the version you agreed to at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
